The Ministry of Fisheries, Water Resources and National Assembly Matters (MoFWR&NAMs) on Wednesday 4th March, 2020 inaugurated the Bansang Hydrological in CRR. The event was presided over by His Excellency the President, Mr. Adama Barrow President of the Republic of The Gambia.
The Bansang Hydrological station is the coordinating hub for all other hydrological stations in the country. With financing from the Global Environment Facility (GEF), the Government of The Gambia (GoTG), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) funded Strengthening Climate Services and Early Warning Systems in The Gambia Phase II Project and is funded under the UNDP component of the project. The Hydrological facility will serve as the national headquarters for hydrological services of the country responsible for monitoring all hydrological (Surface water and Ground water) activities in the five administrative regions (West Coast Region, North Bank Region, Lower River Region, Central River Region and Upper River Region) of the country.
