The launching of Ministry's new website and Fisheries Information System (FIS)

The Ministry of Fisheries, Water Resources and National Assembly Matters recently on Thursday 30^th January, 2020 launched its new website and Fisheries Information System (FIS). The website and the FIS is funded by FAO and built by a consulting firm by the name of Forte Innovations.

The objective is to build a scalable online platform that can incorporate a variety of applications that will allow the Ministry of Fisheries and Water Resources (MoFWR) to effectively achieve the delivery of its mandate and objectives. MoFWR would also like to improve its web presence and overall online strategy with the ultimate objectives being to control its own public relations and dissemination. It will also guarantee the access of stakeholders to all the fisheries and aquaculture relevant information and resources, including statistics, maps, literature, licenses and registration information, policy papers, legislation, etc. ensuring thereby the capacity of the Ministry to fulfil all its objectives through a well-established, resourceful and accessible information system.
