A two-day electronic data collection Training Workshop organized by Forte Innovation in collaboration with the Ministry of Fisheries and Water Resources has just concluded at The Village in Senegambia.
The workshop was aimed at training fisheries officers posted at the various landing sites along the coast on how to collect data electronically using a mobile app developed by Forte Innovation.
This is part of a FAO funded TCP project on upgrading the Ministry of Fisheries and Water Resources’ Website and Building a Fisheries Information System (FIS) database. The objective of the Fisheries Information System is to collect and manage fisheries data electronically.
During the training, participants were given tablets provided by FAO with the Data collection app installed in them for training and onwards usage for data collection in their various landing sites.
